LIST OF ITEMS TO TACKLE
JEFFERSON COUNTY MASTER PLAN
Form a good Master Plan. The County has been trying to do this for far too long. Not having an updated Master Plan is causing the County long-term problems.
ROADS
District 2 is the fastest growing area in Jefferson County with many new subdivisions. The County has not really addressed the road issues in District 2. The volume of traffic and conditions of the roads need to be addressed with a good plan going forward.
BUSINESS
We all want Jefferson County to attract more businesses, but we want them in the correct areas of Jefferson County, as outlined in our Master Plan. We need to talk to small business owners and find ways to help them grow and attract other small businesses to come to Jefferson County. We need to review and improve our codes where we can simplify them and decrease the wait time on permits and requests from the County.
NEW DEVELOPMENT
We need more development in Jefferson County, but the right development is more important than just any development. We must be sure developers follow the rules by not always asking and pushing to cut corners to save money. The people of Jefferson County have to live with the mistakes the County lets slide by.
SAFETY
The times seem to be changing, and not in a good way. We need to make sure everyone is safe in their homes in and around Jefferson County. And our County Council needs to help Jefferson County law enforcement where the we can.
